The sun shining through the window made these interesting shadows on my living room wall the other day.

Cadwallader Park, with the dogwood and forsythia in bloom. Sometimes New Jersey puts on her best outfit and look pretty nice!

Reggie on the far left. Helen on the far right. I hope we all stay active and adventurous into our senior years as these beautiful ladies did!

Nothing can beat a real pizza from Brother’s in Hamilton NJ! It’s the one food I really miss…

Too bad they don’t deliver…

My mission today took me to Kalaeloa Harbor. I sort of knew where it was, and I was sure I had seen signs pointing the way. So I set out. Yes, the signs were all there and I was driving down the road in a very industrial part of the island. Lots of big commercial truck, and burly men in huge pick-ups. And me. In my little old lady Saturn.
Then I didn’t see any more signs to the harbor, so I thought maybe they took them down or something. But I want around a bend in the road and saw…boats! However, none of them looked like the one I was searching for. And the sign said “permit parking only”. There were 2 security guards there in a golf cart. I told them my daughter was away at college and when she heard the Black Pearl was here she begged me to take some pictures. They laughed, and pointed me in the right direction.
So here she is…

This year has seen a lot of snow on the East Coast. But there always has been Winters full of lots of snow! Maybe the Winters have been milder in recent years, so when another heavy snowfall arrives, people forget how it used to be.
This picture was taken out the front window of our house at 19 Abbey Pl.

Here’s Helen shoveling the front walk the next day. It must have still been slippery, as she looks like she is loosing her balance!

And little Barbie all bundled up, thinking “OK here I am outside in the snow. But maybe it’s not as much fun as I thought it would be!”

“Hello?” “Clue phone. It’s for YOU!”
You’d think from the colors, the California blonde, and the bowl of oranges that this cookbook would be all about cooking with citrus fruits. But no, the surprising difference is Carnation condensed milk. Not much of a surprise.
LAZY WEEKENDERS use Carnation cooking short-cuts for easy meals.
Those pointy shoes look painful. So does that severely pulled-back hair. And the man twisting in his seat to cut his food. All that red and yellow is painful to my eyes.
Vegetables don’t taste good unless they are covered in creamy glop.

No pot parties, acid rock, or necking here! Just good wholesome fun. Though I find the girl looking longingly at the boy eating a chili burger suspect especially with the homoerotic image of the surfer floating above him.

My Dad loved monitoring world news on his short wave radio. He would listen for hours and hours, sometimes not even understanding the language they were speaking. Bu when he heard a word that he understood, like the name of our president, he would know what they were talking about, an what was inportant to them.
Here he lets me listen, while pointing out on the map where this particular transmission was originating from.
