Air Bags Do Work
I don’t really have all the details yet, but Joan left a message on my phone that she and Mom were in an accident. A big truck apparently didn’t see them and totalled the car. They are both kind of bruised up, but nothing broken. Thanks to the airbags.

Glorious Columbus
On my trip to New Jersey in May 2007 I visited Columbus Flea Market. It had been a happy day trip for me many times in the past. Junk, antiques, treasures, foods both mundane and exotic, fresh produce, garment wholesalers — you name it, it was there. To see the whole thing might take you a day. The [...]

Magic Bus
Here’s a pic I from the Warner/Dittrich 1970 trip across Europe. I think it was a slide that had been made by my father into a color print in his home darkroom, so the color was kind of wonky (I’ve fixed it as best I could.) I believe it was taken in Germany somewhere on [...]

The Strange Customs of Mexico

“In Mexico the people have many strange customs. To begin with, [...]

Tomato Juice
Another thing I collect is old magazines, because I like the advertisements. Here is a 1953 ad for Libby’s tomato juice.
If you look at some of the old photos below you can get an idea from this of the world the family lived in then. The supermarket world, at least. I am thankful that by the time [...]

It’s a little hard to see, but Violet’s hair really is purple here.

The Boys on the Couch
This is Popoki (means cat in Hawaiian) and Ilio (means dog in Hawaiian). They refuse to give an inch when sleeping illegally on the couch.
