Local Art: Roadrunners, Spacemen, and Sgt. Pepper

Over the years, I’ve visited almost half of the 50 states. (Driving through counts, airport transfers do not. So says I, in an arbitrary decision. If airports were valid, I’d add Texas, Michigan, and Colorado.) Most of them are in the north, curving around to the west and southwest.

Dragon Girl
For a time in 6th and 7th grades I was obsessed with drawing dragons. Not the fire-breathing ones of yore, but young, svelte, sexy dragon girls wearing red-hot outfits that would put Cher to shame. First Communion
Being from a Catholic family, April was a most momentous month for us young ones reaching the age of 6 or so. Because that meant it was time for that most holy and solemn of ceremonies… First Communion! The timing always seemed to coincide with the cherry blossoms.
