Swiss Miss
Tracy Warner in Swiss nightclub, 1970 In 1970, on our big multi-family trip to Europe, we went to a Swiss nightclub that featured singing and dancing in traditional costume, and people blowing those huge alpine horns. Afterwards, dancing for all the audience, and my parents cajoled me into joining a conga line, or maybe it [...]

Go Go Rocketsled
Richard Warner, June 1960, at the Jersey Shore Richard Warner takes a ride on a roller coaster at the Jersey Shore. The cars are styled to look like cartoon outer space vehicles, not uncommon for that era. He is not shouting or screaming so I guess the ride was not as violent as the coasters [...]

Mapca, the Red Planet
This is another of those Russian scientific booklets that originally belonged to the Dittrichs. Backyard Birthday Party
That is me at the center, with my mod Euro cut, opening presents. It was my 6th birthday party. I am sitting in a vinyl-webbed aluminum chaise lounge listening to a little portable radio because that’s what I thought older, sophisticated people did, and I certainly considered myself older and more sophisticated on that day. I’ve already [...]
