This is the famous banyan tree in Lahaina.
ok I think I found the catagory box..but I don’t know if I’ll be able to find it again…I wish I was better at this computer stuff!

But… now that you’ve told us that… aren’t you going to tell us why it is so famous?

It’s supposed to be the largest banyan tree in the world. But you know, all those largest,oldest, fastest, etc things, one begins to wonder how they figure it out and who gets to decide. However, it is a large banyan tree, and it takes up a whole block. While we were there, one day they had an art show all spread out underneath, on the pathways that wend through the branches. You would have liked it!

Isn’t there a poem somrwhere about a man sitting under the sweeping banyan tree? By Kiplig, maybe?

I can sort of think of the spreading chestnut tree…I will do some checking
