		<description>That generation thought it was proper to wear gloves, too, at least in the 1950s and 1960s. But I have rarely a picture where any of the women of the family were wearing them. Maybe the ankle socks stuck around as a kind of substitute for the gloves. Or maybe Aunt Lottie didn&#039;t like the thought of little tropical scurrying things running across her bare feet.

These days women&#039;s feet must be properly pedicured and polished to the nines before they are seen in a sandal.</description>

And I think Aunt Lottie&#039;s generation always wore little white ankle socks.  I know my Mom embarrassed me numerous times with that fashion choice.
Frank was SO lucky to be able to grow up in Waialua!</description>
