Guilty! OK I get pedicures, but only because I’m too old and fat to bend over for that long to do it myself.

That generation thought it was proper to wear gloves, too, at least in the 1950s and 1960s. But I have rarely a picture where any of the women of the family were wearing them. Maybe the ankle socks stuck around as a kind of substitute for the gloves. Or maybe Aunt Lottie didn’t like the thought of little tropical scurrying things running across her bare feet.

These days women’s feet must be properly pedicured and polished to the nines before they are seen in a sandal.

Love Frank’s long hair!
And I think Aunt Lottie’s generation always wore little white ankle socks. I know my Mom embarrassed me numerous times with that fashion choice.
Frank was SO lucky to be able to grow up in Waialua!
