Easter Fun
I don’t know what year this was, but Helen and Virginia look very young. And all dressed up in their Easter best!
Kurt, Janine and Barb. Adorable!
This one, at least, had a date – 1955. I would have been 3 years old, so maybe the picture of the 3 cousins was the same year.
And here’s Barb [...]

Jet Boy
This is an old friend of the Karpinski girls who hung around with them in their post-teenage years. His name was Lou Halibuck, and as you can see he was pretty buff. According to Aunt Helen he did not serve in the war because of some family or medical reason. This photo must have been [...]

Olde Loundon Towne
Ah, Olde Loundon Towne. Here we are walking along a quaint cobblestone street. That’s me in the dark dress with the red sash, walking behind Mary Anne (in the red dress) with my mom. Joan, in pink dress and white knee socks, is behind us. The other members of our party are on the right.

Local Art: Brave Eagle and Tired Horse
A few blocks away from me sit these sculptures. Brave Eagle has been carved with a chainsaw from a large piece of cedar. He sits in the front yard of a one-story bungalow, gazing across the street on the passersby. He’s weathered very well and still has a nice reddish-brown color.
Tired Horse is made of [...]

19 Abbey Place/1953
I know we moved into the house when I was about 18 months old. Apparently, we visited many times as it was being built. The story goes, that whenever we did visit, I would insist on going on the “potty”, which consisted merely of a pipe into the foundation at the time.
