I have an old Spiegel catalog from 1970, chock-full of awful decor, obsolete electronics, and atrocious clothing. I tried to sell it on Ebay and took a photo of this double-page spread as a teaser.

What I have to say is, why all the belts? And what’s the obsession with ochre (Harvest Gold)?

I had a poncho when I was 5 that was similar to the faux-Peruvian one in the lower left corner — without the collar though. I loved that thing — so cozy on a chilly yet sunny autumn day.
