Jeanne and I eat lunch on our own private picnic blanket at the Dittrichs’ Fourth of July backyard barbecue. At the end of the day there was a scramble to find sticks to toast our marshamallows on. If one bubbled and burned and fell into the hot coals — disaster! After that the sparklers in silver, red, and green, and fireworks at the locak drive-in.

If your house is finished next Summer, I think we should all come over for old times sake!
