Happy New Year!
Every New Year’s Day we went to Aunt Nan’s house. Here we see Steven, Joan, Barb, Valerie and Nadine. Look at all the jars of canned vegetables and fruits on the shelf behind the table. Aunt Nan did all her canning herself of the things that she grew in the garden.
What I remember the most [...]

Ice Skating
Every Winter, my Dad would lead us at least once on an adventure into the frozen swamp. You had to be careful, because there would be grass and stuff stuck in the ice that you could trip over. Also, there were a lot of springs, where the water wasn’t completely frozen. Not that you would [...]

December In Alaska
When I first got off the plane, and was waiting for Violet to come pick me up, I looked outside at the trees. I thought how nice that they flocked all those trees for Christmas decorations…

North Pole
This was an earlier trip to the North Pole, before Joan was born. I don’t know if I believed it really was the North Pole, but I’m guessing it was cold.
I really like Mom’s wicker purse!

Stupid Chatty Cathy
It looks like I was sick that day. And, adding insult to injury, that was the Christmas I got a Chatty Cathy doll. I was in 4th grade and way beyond playing with such things. But little Joan wanted a Chatty Cathy, so I had to get one too. Grrrrr…!!!!
