BLIZZARD!!
This year has seen a lot of snow on the East Coast. But there always has been Winters full of lots of snow! Maybe the Winters have been milder in recent years, so when another heavy snowfall arrives, people forget how it used to be.

The Surprising Difference
“Hello?” “Clue phone. It’s for YOU!”
You’d think from the colors, the California blonde, and the bowl of oranges that this cookbook would be all about cooking with citrus fruits. But no, the surprising difference is Carnation condensed milk. Not much of a surprise.

Follow the Plain Brick Road
Virginia and Helen Karpinski pose on a brick path going down the center of the Karpinski back yard in East Trenton. Virginia stood about 5′ 3″, so I estimate the width of the yard — and the house — stood at about 12′. Man, those houses were tiny. But so were the people back then.
