Shrinking Hat
I’ve read somewhere, recently, that Chinaman’s Hat is shrinking. Here is a picture taken in 1967, and that’s Kurt sitting on the sand.
And now this picture taken in 2009. Yes, it does appear to be a little stubbier on the top…!

Cane Fire!
There are no sugar cane fields left on Oahu. But it was always so much fun to watch them burn the cane so they could take the sugary stalks to the mill for processing.

The Personalities of Trees

Bunny Cake

Dance Recital Fashions
I wasn’t one much for dancing. But I did love the costumes. The tedious business in the Irene Parker dance studio was for me just a penitence, a necessary evil, for wearing a glittery, shiny, colorful stage outfit like my cousins did.
